changes come in bulk around here

i waited to start writing and then i waited some more, but as time passes i feel more and more that the best alternative to living in a city right now, instead of a small town that feels so limited, is to reach some sort of wider community out there.
today feels like that starting day for more than one reason. it seems that the change of me graduating college in a month and staring at the next step of my life is matched by strange occurrences such as the letter i received this morning from the never more creative bloomington emergency department.
apparently when last month the fire fighters couldn’t find my house ( long story, in brief: basement flooded, heater was submerged and started smoking, called the firefighters), they notified the city of my address abnormality.
so the city reassigned a different address to my house. a different street and number.
i have to notify everyone that my address changed, even though i did not move.
very strange.
i am not a very supersticious person, but all this sense of external and internal change paralleling this house, which has been at the same address since 1947, suddenly being reassigned to a new address makes my brain hurt.
